Over the years I have used several version control tools. They have
served me well and generally I have been happy with them all (I still
use RCS, CVS and Subversion) so why do I find myself changing to Git?
Git is the version control system created by Linus Torvalds for
tracking changes to the Linux kernel. More recently it has also been
adopted by several other high-profile open source projects including
Perl, Samba, U-Boot, VLC, WINE, X.org and many others. Git development
is now overseen by Junio Hamano.
