Wind River affirms its commitment to LGBTQ+ Human Rights by signing the Declaration of San José

Wind River is thrilled to announce that we have signed the Declaration of San José for 2021, an initiative promoted by the Business Alliance for Development (AED) and the Pride Connection Costa Rica, with the support of the Presidential LGBTQ+ Commissioner of Costa Rica. It contains ten principles against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and expressly promotes the Human Rights of LGBTQ+ persons.

This initiative is a strong demonstration of our values as a company to further demonstrate our commitment to no discrimination of any kind in our workplace, and building upon our culture of inclusion.

By signing this declaration, Wind River will be part of a group of companies actively working against discrimination of LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) individuals, especially in the workplace. Approximately 50 companies and organizations have committed to the Declaration of San José in Costa Rica, and Wind River is proud to join them.

Esteban Aguero Perez, who will be co-leading our Pride Networking Group later this fall, shares that, “This commitment is an amazing step to further demonstrate our clear support of diversity, especially for people in the LGBTQ+ community.  I’m proud to have led the effort to sign this commitment in partnership with our diversity and inclusion team here at Wind River.”

Based on the ten principles outlined in the declaration, Wind River will seek the promotion of inclusive workplaces and respect for the Human Rights of LGBTQ+ persons in all actions related to policies, procedures, customer service and training, and advertising and marketing, among others.
