Embedded Systems Show UK

Coming from a DSO Company it was interesting to visit the UK ESS in Birmingham this week.
The first thing I noticed there was a distinct lack of traditional
software vendors there; no Linux vendors for instance, couple of RTOS
vendors,couple of DSO Companies, and also none of the Semi companies
there. Without these how do you build embedded systems?
The second thing I noticed was that we don’t do huge trade shows in
the UK any more, this was nothing like the huge US ESC or Embedded
World in Germany. I guess we are just more reserved here in the UK and
like to use the privacy of our own office to search the web for
answers??
