A Whole New Spin on Mobile Education

A Whole New Spin on Mobile Education

R.Breault

I recently spent a few days in Santa Clara helping to set-up Wind River’s new “Mobile Executive Briefing Center”, an impressive high tech showcase on wheels (eighteen wheels to be precise) that’s now touring North America.  My focus was on the quick installation and configuration of Wind River Carrier Grade Communications Server, an exciting new NFV product that I’ve been working on for the past year.  Like many people perhaps, I tend to put most of my energy into my main work, and don’t take enough time to look around me and see all the cool stuff that is being developed elsewhere in the company.

When I was finished my work on Carrier Grade Communications Sever, I had ample time to explore the “Big Rig” and see some of the demos put together by engineers from across Wind River.  There is some fantastic work being done in this company!  From rich “Internet of Things” development platforms, to Avionics systems, cybersecurity for critical infrastructure (think power plants and gas pipelines), and accelerated deep packet inspection, there is so much to learn and explore.  Micro servers, sensor networks, flight simulator, advanced automotive entertainment systems…. I felt like a kid in a candy store!

I encourage everyone to take some time out of their busy day to see this amazing truck in person.  Find out when it’s coming to a city near you, drop by, and learn something new; you’ll be amazed at the depth and breadth of software solutions Wind River is delivering for our customers.
