Wind River is honored and proud to receive the ‘2015 Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan Global Technology Innovation Award for Operations Management of Emerging IoT Technologies’ for Wind River Helix Device Cloud. Device Cloud is a ready-made IoT platform that helps organizations greatly reduce the complexities of building and rolling out large-scale device deployments that help them quickly, securely, and efficiently unlock machine data by connecting to IT networks and analytics environments. Award recipients were based on two key factors, the first being technology attributes, including product impact, innovation, and scalability, and the second being future business value, determined by market performance. According to Frost & Sullivan, Wind River is helping drive all aspects of the emerging IoT infrastructure.
Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan Research analyst Tim McElligott, commented, “Leveraging its more than 30 years of embedded leadership, and role as a pioneer in the Internet of Things, Wind River has stepped up to support a new kind of interconnectedness where millions of new devices will not just connect to the network, but share data with other devices and machines. Device Cloud will be one of the most immediate requirements for the IoT to become a reality. Wind River’s strategy, products and partnerships all show real innovation in support of the future of businesses across market segments.”
Wind River’s entry into the cloud space has been a natural evolution given our embedded experience and expertise. The integration between the IoT agent and the host OS is a critical integration point in the IoT technology stack and enables key capabilities. Wind River, as a leading OS vendor with cloud offerings, is well positioned to make this possible; and our focus on an integrated agent is where our story of unlocking the value of IoT begins.
Device Cloud is part of the Wind River Helix portfolio of software platforms and development tools and an integral part of the Intel IoT Platform.
