Wind River Cloud Platform Honored as Bronze Stevie® Winner in 2020 American Business Awards®

By Jeff Gowan

We’re thrilled that the American Business Awards, the nation’s premier business awards program, has honored Wind River Cloud Platform with a Bronze Stevie® Award in the “New Product - Cloud Infrastructure” category.

Cloud Platform is also in the running for the People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Products. It’s certainly our favorite new product but we’d like to hear from you. You can vote for Wind River Cloud Platform at http://peopleschoice.stevieawards.com (enter short code: T104Q) before July 15.

This year these awards provide some optimism and serve as inspiration for perseverance. Maggie Gallagher, Stevie Awards President, said, “Despite the toughest business conditions in memory, American organizations continue to demonstrate their commitment to innovation, creativity, and bottom-line results. This year’s Stevie-winning nominations are full of inspiring stories of persistence, ingenuity, resourcefulness, and compassion.  We celebrate all of their stories and look forward to showcasing them during our virtual awards ceremony on August 5.”

We’re very proud of the recognition and even more excited about what our product, Wind River Cloud Platform can do for our customers.

The rise of 5G connectivity also creates the potential to have a transformative impact across industries. Use cases in areas such as industrial automation/IIoT, autonomous vehicles, drones, and medical systems involve high stakes and demand more intensive requirements, specifically in regard to low latency, smaller footprint, and reliability. Wind River Cloud Platform can help companies deliver a distributed edge cloud solution for these demanding 5G use cases, and Wind River’s unique presence across these industries can help service providers enable this cross-industry 5G adoption.

Cloud Platform combines a fully cloud native, Kubernetes and container-based architecture with the ability to manage a physically and geographically separated infrastructure. While existing cloud infrastructure is unable to meet the new edge compute requirements which applications such as 5G, IoT, and MEC introduce, Cloud Platform is optimized for the network edge andoffers service providers a true option for deploying 5G vRAN.

With more than 3,600 nominations submitted this year, we congratulate all our fellow Stevie Award winners. We also want to thank the more than 230 professionals worldwide who participated in the judging process to select this year’s Steve Award winners. Additional details about The American Business Awards and the list of 2020 Stevie winners, are available at www.StevieAwards.com/ABA.

We look forward to (virtually) celebrating with the Wind River team and other winners at the 2020 ABA Awards Ceremony in August and to Cloud Platform’s continued contributions this year.
